About Us

SSM provides Christian discipleship to men who are starting life over after having been released from prison, and have chosen to live life by Christ's standards. This program emphasizes personal accountability like getting a job and using their paycheck to pay bills such as room and board, and parole fees.

The men are placed on teams which teaches accountability by being responsible for completing assigned household chores such as; cleaning the house & grounds, cooking an evening meal once a week for all residents of the house, and taking care of landscaping duties. Each week the men are expected to attend two Bible Studies, a worship service, and complete community service hours.

SSM helps these men navigate the avenues of basic human services by assisting with interviewing skills and finding a job, getting a Texas ID or Drivers License, obtaining food stamps, obtaining copies of his birth certificate and Social Security card. Because many of the men have been incarcerated for long periods of time, they often need to relearn decision making skills. Emphasis is placed on making wise choices and that all actions have consequences.
